INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT

We are here to help simplify the investment process, focusing on a buy-and-hold, low-cost investment strategy where we make portfolio tilts based on 2013 Nobel Prize winner Eugene F. Fama and co-author Kenneth French’s research - A Five-Factor Asset Pricing Model. Ben Felix writes more about this model in his paper “Five Factor Investing With ETFs”. We leverage the teams of CFAs and PHDs within DFA, Morningstar, and Vanguard to compile the best portfolio for your time horizon, financial goals, and appetite for risk. However, we understand that the stock market isn’t the only investment option and enjoy brainstorming through business reinvestment, private loans, and real estate.

Focus on what you can control.

When investing, you can control fund fees, diversification, exposure to risk, and reactions to bull and bear markets. Wise investing involves getting these variables correct and posturing yourself to be prepared for expanding and contracting markets. Like sailing, we can’t always control when the storm comes, but we can prepare for it.

Active vs. Passive Investment Management

Whether we are discussing the Buffet vs. Seides $1 million wager or how “Not One of 2,132” actively managed funds consistently beat the market, we have learned from our predecessors not to chase outperformance through active management. When investing in the stock market, we prioritize passive, low-cost, factor-tilted investing for our clients.

Don’t Chase Returns

Whether it’s the Magellan fund, Cathie Woods, or the top ten performing funds from last year, we don’t chase historical returns. The next best thing you’re hearing about often has its best days behind it.

Wealth Management with Zero Hidden Fees

We don’t earn a penny from the managers or strategies we recommend, and we don’t offer proprietary products. Our portfolios don’t cost our clients any front-end or deferred loads that can be as high as 5%. This allows us to objectively analyze the landscape of available solutions and build the most suitable investment strategy for each client while prioritizing their financial growth. Every recommendation is in your best interest.
